Mom Hack Monday
#MHM--Mom Hack Monday--is that a thing🤔? Ha, it is now!
I don't know about you, but sometimes I have a hard time remembering to make sure I feed myself between running the clinic and taking care of my family. While I always prefer whole foods 🥑🍗🍊over anything processed, soooometimes it just doesn't happen.
Here is the deal, no matter where you are at with motherhood, you need to make sure you are getting enough protein in, and in a pinch I'll do a high quality (this is key) protein shake. I'll added in fruits 🥒🍎 and veggies if I have time, or even just shake it I'm a shaker bottle. Easy peasy.
As an aside for our pregnant mommas---I cannot stress enough getting enough protein in every single day (shooting for upwards of 80-100 grams a day). You are making a baby, blood cells, a placenta, your own additional blood vessels, etc etc etc., and all of those functions need the protein as a building block to make them.
Get your whole foods proteins in first, and if you are running short--a good quality protein powder can fill the gaps. Look for something that is low in sugar, low adaptive and the protein from clean sources (hormone free, etc).
